1. PI (Polyimide): The Versatile Mainstay


Core Properties: - Temperature range: -200°C to 300°C; - Flex life: 50,000–120,000 cycles; - Dk: 3.2–3.5; - Chemical-resistant, moderate moisture absorption.


Applications: Mid-to-high-end products (smartphones, automotive BMS, wearables, industrial sensors) — 70% of our FPC production uses PI.


Our Recommendation: Use 25μm–50μm PI with 12μm–18μm rolled copper for cost-performance; choose modified low-temperature PI for -50°C+ environments. We offer custom PI FPCs with HDI (0.05mm line width/spacing).


2. LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer): Premium for High-End Needs


Core Properties: - Temperature range: -50°C to 280°C; - Flex life: 200,000–300,000 cycles (2–3x PI); - Dk: 2.8–3.0 (low loss); - 0.04% moisture absorption, solder-resistant.


Applications: 5G/6G equipment, foldable devices, aerospace/medical devices (signal integrity and durability critical).


Our Recommendation: Opt for LCP for high-frequency/long-flex-life needs. We offer LCP-PI hybrid FPCs to cut costs, plus DFM support to avoid delamination; 20μm thin LCP with 15% less material waste.


3. PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate): Cost-Effective Entry-Level


Core Properties: - Temperature range: -40°C to 120°C; - Flex life: 10,000–30,000 cycles; - Dk: 3.5–4.0; - 30–40% cheaper than PI, easy to process.


Applications: Low-cost products (toys, simple sensors, remote controls, LED strips).
